On January 7, 2010, I was at the end of my Christmas vacation and it was time for me to go back to college. However, I knew I didn’t do well and the school had put me on Academic suspension. I didn’t want to go home because I was embarrassed so I chose to be homeless. I didn’t have a job, I didn’t have a vehicle, I didn’t have any money saved and I didn’t have a plan. But God!
You might be thinking, how did you get back into college, how did you graduate or did you graduate?
During this time of not having food, a home or not ability to take care of myself God was putting people in place to bless me. As a student at Chowan, I was very Active in the community of Murfreesboro, mentoring at the elementary school and volunteering at a local church. When I was in need these people blessed me. They blessed me with food, a place to live, and my first vehicle (Chevrolet S 10) and necessary insurance.
Because of the vehicle I was able to drive to get a job at Arby’s in Rona Rapids. Because of the new transportation I was able to enroll in the community college to take two classes to prove to Chowan I was capable and willing to put in the work to receive my degree. Because of 3 or 4 people that helped me in my Lowest time I was able to graduate and pursue other adventures.
Building a tiny home is definitely an abnormal idea, however, I haven’t had the experience of being homeless. I refuse to let changes put me back in a position that I was in before. I would do what is necessary to take care of myself as well as my two-year-old daughter.
I am in need of a job because the change to my income has put me in an unstable financial season. Nevertheless if you would like to donate towards my tiny home take a look at my Amazon list.
